Recipe:

Take one 911 Speedster (964 generation)

Kinja'd!!!

Turn it into a mix between the bodywork simplicity of a Singer 911.

Kinja'd!!!

and the outrageous lightweight and performance hardware of the Singer-Williams DLS

naturally, the Speedster would lose the roof, with it’s intricately beautiful air vane at the top of the rear glass, and the rear quarter windows.

However, hopefully some of that could be cleverly integrated into the speedster tonneau cover, and re-locating the intake ducts from the coupe rear quarter windows, into the rear fenders turbo-style, or into the speedster tonneau itself...

With a mix of DLS’s cut-away and skeletonized carbon fiber structures and panels, the art-exhibit quality and power of the Williams-tuned engine, with a bit of the standard Singer’s subltey in body and visual optimizations, seam-welded 964 structure, and a few 993-era optimizations... it could be the ultimate open-air, air-cooled Porsche. and a great “modernification” (my new word, modernizing + modification, basically resto-mod going forward through time)

It would be somewhat equivalent to Porsche’s own idealized Speedster concept remake of the 991 current-production 911 Carrera S cabriolet, modified to near GT3 spec, by the motorsport devision.

yeah... Singer ought to do a few speedsters at some point. I know some folks might call it blasphemous... but I think it would be super cool if they did some 928s too...
